Main topics:
The organization of a congress of the Balkan Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (BAPRAS) every two years became already a tradition. Founded in 1998 in Thessaloniki, BAPRAS has evolved during time, and now is in a process of improving its activities. According to the opinion of the member societies and the new projects, it is almost sure that our society will change its name from BAPRAS to BASPRAS.

Our Society consolidates through a process of maturation, which is substantially founded upon the quality and number of contributions of the member nations. Such a contribution is brought, keeping each specific cultural makeup, within a common language and in the interest of a shared cultural and operational purpose.

The full integration of our Society in the European plastic surgery should represent one of the most heartfelt BAPRAS (BASPRAS) current objectives, and it will happen through the harmonization of the formative processes, research, study, information and accreditation in which our society takes an interest.

In the wish to continue the tradition of organizing very successful  congresses, the Romanian plastic surgeons, hand surgeons and microsurgeons are honored to invite all the plastic surgeons from the Balkan area, and also from all over the world, to attend the 11th BAPRAS (BASPRAS) Congress, which will be organized in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, between  May 9-11, 2019.

Cluj-Napoca – the capital of Transilvania with its already famous for the Dracula Castle – is nowadays the second biggest town in Romania, and is well-known for its cultural richness and hospitality.

The Program of the 11th Congress, under the title „Pushing the borders in plastic surgery”, clearly expresses this assumption: it deals with the accomplishment in the field of plastic surgery did by prominent European and world plastic surgeons. The program, including instructional courses, panels, conferences, free papers will cover all the fields of modern plastic surgery. We will try to bring together plastic surgeons with long-standing experience, which will offer pearls of their wisdom and creativity to the young and enthusiastic colleagues.

We will encourage our young colleagues to attend the congress, and, during the congress, a contest will be organized for free papers and posters presented by residents only. There would be a best-case award and a best young surgeon award.

It is in our hands, minds, and hearts to mold an impressive future together!

We are looking forward to seeing you in Cluj-Napoca, to share this wonderful scientific and social event!
